Congresswoman Chellie Pingree issued the following statement after House Republicans pushed through a government funding bill that included provisions intended to undermine Obamacare early this morning.

"This was a reckless and irresponsible move on the part of House Republicans that has taken us one step closer to a government shutdown. We spent a year debating Obamacare, fought two presidential elections over it and the Supreme Court ruled on it. It's the law of the land but the Tea Party cannot let go of its obsession with repealing it and have put their radical ideology and their hate for President Obama ahead of the needs of the country."
