Congresswoman Chellie Pingree released the following statement on President Trump's dangerous rhetoric on North Korea

"President Trump’s threats of "fire and fury” toward North Korea endanger Americans at home and abroad, including nearly 30,000 soldiers currently stationed in South Korea, and could provoke an unprecedented military conflict. Diplomacy is the most effective option to address concerns over North Korea's nuclear weapons program. President Trump must work with intelligence officials and experienced military officers to map out a viable strategy for containing North Korea’s nuclear arsenal instead of making extreme threats on television or Twitter, which make us all feel less safe."
