Funds will improve drainage, repair terminal roof, and install a fire protection system

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree announced today that the Brunswick Executive Airport would receive three federal grants totaling $1,364,130 from the Department of Transportation.

“Brunswick Executive Airport is a critical piece in the redevelopment of the former Navy base. Having the facility nearby is a draw to the innovative businesses that have come to Brunswick Landing and the area,” said Pingree. “I’m excited that the airport will be able to make these improvements so it can continue to establish itself as a state-of-the-art facility.”

Individual grant amounts:
• $182,088 for rehabilitating the terminal building’s roof
• $748,818 for improving drainage
• $433,224 for a fire protection system in one of the facility’s buildings
