WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) issued the following statement applauding the federal government’s approval of Maine’s Medicaid Expansion plan:

“Today’s approval of Medicaid Expansion by the federal government marks the final hurdle in the long fight for health care access for 70,000 low-income Mainers. The benefits to our state’s health and economy have always been apparent, which is why Mainers overwhelmingly approved Medicaid Expansion at the ballot box in 2017. I’m profoundly grateful to all of the people in our state who worked toward this goal and I’m eager to see tens of thousands of Mainers finally have access to the care they need.”
