Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) today announced Family Planning Association of Maine, also known as Maine Family Planning, has received $1,925,000 from the US Department of Health and Human Services as part of the Statewide FamilyPlanning Project which provides medical, educational, and referral services to at risk, in need clients throughout Maine. “This nearly $2 million HHS grant will support the needs of thousands of Mainers who rely on Maine FamilyPlanning and partner providers as their primary source of care” said Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine). “After four years of funding cuts and efforts to undermine access these basic health care services, I applaud the Biden administration for making such a significant investment in Maine’s family planning needs. As reproductive rights face renewed threats across the country, I will continue to fight for family planning funding as a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee.” "We are delighted that our application to return to the Title X National Family Planning Program has been funded and that Maine people will once again be able to take advantage of the high quality sexual and reproductive health care they deserve,” said George Hill, President and CEO of Maine Family Planning. ### |
