Congresswoman Chellie Pingree displeased with the Navy’s decision not to award the USS Fitzgerald repair contract to Bath Iron Works

PORTLAND, ME—Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) released the following statement regarding the Navy’s decision not to award the USS Fitzgerald repair contract to Bath Iron Works:

"I am extremely disappointed that the skilled men and women at Bath Iron Works were not selected to rebuild the USS Fitzgerald. I’ve made it known to the Secretary of the Navy that I am displeased with the lack of transparency in the process of selecting a yard for this repair and will urge him to have a more open process for future repairs."
