Pingree Produces Open Enrollment PSA, Pushes Back on Trump Administration’s Effort to Sabotage Affordable Care Act

In response to the Trump Administration’s decision to shut down Healthcare.gov during peak hours of Open Enrollment and not to advertise for the brief 90-day window when Americans must purchase health insurance, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) is doing her part to ensure Mainers know Open Enrollment begins on November 1st.

PORTLAND, ME—In response to the Trump Administration’s decision to shut down Healthcare.gov during peak hours of Open Enrollment and not to advertise for the brief 90-day window when Americans must purchase health insurance, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) is doing her part to ensure Mainers know Open Enrollment begins on November 1st. Pingree recorded a 30-second public service announcement which will run on WPXT-TV (The CW), WPME-TV (MyTV), and ME-TV (Memorable Entertainment) from now until the close of 2018 Open Enrollment on December 15th.

Transcript of PSA:

Hello, I’m Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree.

The Affordable Care Act has helped thousands of Mainers purchase the health insurance they need—and I want to make sure you can, too.

For 2018 coverage, you have from November 1st to December 15th to sign up or change plans. It is important to shop for the insurance that is best for you as there have been a number of plan changes. Most Mainers qualify for subsidies to lower their premiums. So visit www.healthcare.gov to learn about your coverage options or to identify where to get local assistance and begin enrolling on November 1st.
