Pingree Named to Conference Committee Tasked with Ironing Out Differences in House & Senate Appropriations Minibus

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) has been chosen to serve as one of six Democratic Members on the conference committee that is mending differences between the House and Senate’s third “minibus” appropriations bills. As a member of the conference committee, Pingree will help to determine the final spending levels for the appropriations bills relative to Agriculture, Interior, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD), programs. The committee’s final bill draft will be sent to a vote in both chambers.

“Serving on this bipartisan conference committee is an opportunity for Congress to get a spending bill to the floor that will reflect the everyday needs of our constituents. I am very pleased to serve on this committee and to be a strong voice of support for funding that is vital to the health and well-being of Mainers and Americans across the nation,” said Pingree.
