Statement on Retirement of Paul Ryan

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME) released the following statement on Paul Ryan’s decision to not seek re-election.

"Though we didn’t always agree, I like Paul Ryan and appreciate his service as Speaker, which is one of the most challenging jobs in Washington. For the  remainder of his term, I hope he feels freer to reach across the aisle so we can address pressing issues that have been blocked by partisan gridlock, such as immigration reform. I wish him and his family the very best.”
