Congresswoman Chellie Pingree issued the following statement after voting for a two-year federal budget agreement.  The deal passed the U.S. House this afternoon on a bipartisan vote. 

"This deal addresses a number of important issues—like Medicare premiums, Social Security disability benefits and the arbitrary sequester cuts—and it passed with strong bipartisan support.  It's much better for the economy and working families if we can come to these kind of bipartisan agreements instead of facing a manufactured fiscal crisis every few months."
