Today, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) was named Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies by Chairwoman Nita M. Lowey (D-NY).
“I’m honored to be named Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior & Environment and to serve alongside Chairwoman McCollum,” Congresswoman Pingree said. “During this crucial time for the subcommittee, I’m excited to play a leading role in the fight against climate change in Congress and hold the Trump administration accountable on this issue. Being Vice Chair also puts me in a great position to advocate for federal programs that provide vital investments for Maine from the National Parks System and environmental protection to the National Endowment for the Arts.”
