Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) today called on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt to resign in light of reports that he's received below market rate housing from a D.C. lobbyist with vested interests before the agency: “As EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has cozied up to the oil and gas lobby while showing disdain for science, our environment, and the mission of this critical agency,” said Pingree, a member of the House Appropriations environmental subcommittee which oversees funding for the EPA. “His discounted rental of a lobbyist’s condo is just one more concrete example of his questionable personal ethics and inappropriate relationship with the fossil fuel industry. It’s time for Scott Pruitt to resign and for President Trump to appoint someone who hasn’t spent their entire professional life undermining or exploiting our natural resources.” |
