Speaking on the House floor tonight, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) condemned the Republican Farm Bill that fails farmers and puts chemical company profits over the health of Americans.

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), a longtime organic farmer and member of the House Agriculture Committee, spoke out against Republicans’ Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies FY2027 funding bill.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin appeared before the House Appropriations Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Subcommittee on Monday for a hearing on the FY27 budget. Ranking Member Pingree outlined how he and the Trump Administration are dismantling the agency and putting corporate polluters over the health of the environment and the American people.

Penobscot Island Air, a regional air service serving the islands of Penobscot Bay with charter flights, cargo delivery, scenic flights and emergency transport, says it is owed around $388,000 by the United States Postal Service for mail deliveries dating back to 2023. As a result, the airline said it would not make any deliveries on Tuesday.

The "Pingree Protect Our Health Amendment" would have stripped language from the Republican Farm Bill that shields chemical companies from liability lawsuits, preempts state and local regulation over usage, and removes protections that limit pesticide pollution. The Amendment was not adopted, with every Republican on the Committee voting against it.
