Pingree Says Courts Must Block FCC Overstep on Net Neutrality, Backs Congressional Resolution

"... I call on the courts to block this major overstep by the FCC and all of my House colleagues to enact Congressman Mike Doyle's resolution to overturn this decision using the authority granted by the Congressional Review Act."

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) issued the following statement regarding today’s FCC decision to rollback Obama-era net neutrality regulations:

“Since FCC Chairman Pai announced his intention to rollback net neutrality rules, I’ve heard from thousands of Mainers who are outraged by his willingness to sacrifice a free and open internet for bigger telecommunications profits. Despite millions of faked public comments and overwhelming public outcry from individuals and elected officials, FCC Chairman Pai pressed forward with a razor-thin, partisan vote to determine the future of the internet. I am sickened by the lack of transparency in this process and that my constituents’ voices were drowned out by hacked comments. I call on the courts to block this major overstep by the FCC and all of my House colleagues to enact Congressman Mike Doyle's resolution to overturn this decision using the authority granted by the Congressional Review Act."
