Congresswoman Chellie Pingree issued the following statement commemorating Veterans Day.

"We should remember the sacrifice and courage shown by the nation's veterans every day, but particularly on Veterans Day when we pause to recognize the men and women who have served this country in uniform. We are safer every day because of their service, and we owe them our thanks and gratitude.

"We have promised our veterans that we will take care of them when they come home, and we should renew our vow to make sure they get the healthcare and benefits they have earned, and make sure they have the economic opportunities that they deserve."
